Bio

I am excited to join the HPA Advisory Board and share the fascinating opportunities available in the many areas of clinical pharmacy. With a doctorate in pharmacy there are multiple specialties where you can practice and have a rewarding career. The reason I joined HPA is to connect with students and serve as a resource to professional success. I did my undergrad at Sacramento State University in biology, graduated from Touro University, College of Pharmacy, and then two years of pharmacy residency at UC Davis Medical Center. The first year was in acute care and the second I specialized in infectious diseases.

I am an infectious diseases pharmacist at UC Davis Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences at Touro University, College of Pharmacy. My role in patient care is to be an antimicrobial advisor and help customize therapy plans for each patient based on a multitude of factors. Each patient is different from the infant to someone’s great-grandmother, the gymnast from the linebacker. The world of infectious diseases is intriguing and not only is the patient and medication critical to consider in treatment decisions, but we must also consider the pathogen. When I am not in the hospital, I love playing XOSO Volleyball and helping coach River Park Kids Baseball.
