Welcome to Pre-Nursing Bootcamp!
Join Health Professions Advising for Summer Pre-Nursing Bootcamp consisting of daily workshops featuring HPA advisors and guest speakers! Bootcamp will take place Monday through Friday from August 3rd - 14th. Workshops will be hosted via Zoom from 12pm - 1pm. Attendance for every session is not mandatory, join when you can! Bootcamp will feature presentations, panels, and guest speakers on relevant topics including:

| August 3rd Nursing 101 Learn about pathways to nursing, differences between ABSN and ELMSN programs, common prerequisites, and an overview of the nursing field. | August 4th Nurses Panel Listen to a panel of nurses discuss their unique nursing careers and pathways to nursing, different scopes of practice, and what a “day in the life” of a nurse looks like. | August 5th Gaining Meaningful Experiences Explore how to gain clinical and non-clinical meaningful experiences as a pre-nursing student to strengthen your application. Hear about UC Davis campus and off-campus opportunities. | August 6th PA vs NP Discover the key differences between PA and NP careers. Compare the differences in their practice, scope, specialties, and pathways into each field. | August 7th Coming Soon |
| August 10th Application Overview Learn about creating your personal pre-nursing timelines, tips for building a school list, testp-prep, and a brief overview of the NursingCAS application portal. | August 11th Personal Statement/SOP Prep | August 12th Nursing Admission Panel Hear from ABSN and ELMSN nursing school admissions representatives about tips for applying, what to expect during nursing school, and ask all your nursing school questions. | August 13th Coming Soon | August 14th Nursing Student Panel Gain real insights from nursing students in a variety of nursing programs as they share their experiences, advice, and journey to nursing school. |
- Certificate of Completion
- If you attend at least 45 minutes of 7 or more sessions you will be eligible to receive a certificate of completion. A google form will be available at the end of the bootcamp programming to apply for the certificate. (When logging in with Zoom please use the same name and email when possible to help with attendance tracking.)
The Certificate of completion can be added to your application to nursing school to demonstrate your passion for nursing, what you learned, and how it impacted your journey. - Hybrid Sessions
Zoom links and locations will be sent to those who register. HPA staff will be available in the chat to answer questions and provide additional information throughout bootcamp!
Each session will begin at approximately 12:10 pm. Please note a waiting room will be enabled and you will need to login to your zoom account to join the meeting. We encourage joining early in order to ensure you are able to login. Sessions will be hosted live and not recorded.
In-person sessions will require an additional registration as space is limited. Registration will be available closer to the event date.
