Peer Advisors

Susana Kalish

  • Physician Assistant, Nursing, & Genetic Counseling
Susana is a fourth year Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major and Spanish minor. She was an ambassador for the Pre-Health Ambassador Network (PHAN) and is now a peer advisor, and hopes to become a Physician Assistant. On campus, she volunteers for the Knights Landing One Health Center student-run clinic.

Mary Lee

  • Medicine and Public Health
Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from UC Davis in 2017 and will become a double Aggie alum when she graduates with a Master of Public Health in December 2019. She is currently applying for medical school and hopes to matriculate in Fall 2020. Mary advises for public health and medicine, in addition to teaching the MCAT Prep focused on CARS. As an undergraduate and graduate student, she primarily worked with the Knights Landing One Health Center and the Resource Desk.

Mai Yer Thao

  • Physician Assistant and Nursing
Mai Yer Thao is a fourth year Biological Psychology major advising for Pre-PA and Pre-Nursing. She is interested in becoming a Physician Assistant in the future. Mai Yer is a member of the Pre-Health Ambassador Network at HPA and coordinator of the UC Davis High School Symposium. Outside of work, she actively participates in community service events with the UC Davis Undergraduate Psychology Association and plays tennis with the club team on campus.

Huda Nauman

  • Medicine and Nursing
Huda is a third-year Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major who hopes to attend medical school in the future. At HPA, she advises for medicine and nursing, and is a part of the Pre-Health Ambassador Network. She is also currently a mentor for the UC Davis CBS Mentorship Program. In her free time, Huda enjoys drawing, spending time with her friends, and cooking.

Jacob Gomez

  • Medicine
Jacob recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior, with a minor in Environmental Toxicology. He hopes to begin medical school in 2020 and is in the application process. He advises for Pre-Med students and has attended multiple HPA events like MMI practice, MedPrep, and Pre-Med Bootcamp. Jacob has had extensive patient interaction as an undergraduate working for the Bayanihan Clinic at UC Davis and Yolo Hospice. He loves to cook, run, dance, and listen to music in his free time.

Tessa Ferrari

  • Veterinary Medicine
Tessa is a fourth year Animal Science major with a specialization in companion animals. She plans to attend Veterinary School on the west coast in the near future. She does recreational research with a professor looking at different qualities of sheep, such as body condition scores. She is also starting a new project about predicting quality of wool using various techniques. Previously, she has volunteered in UC Davis Spay Day and interned at the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine facility in the ophthalmology department. In her free time, she likes to go on hikes, kayak, and is the team captain for the UC Davis Archery Team. 

Lillian Wu

  • Physician Assistant and Nursing
Lillian is a third year Biopsychology major. She hopes to attend PA school and go into OB/GYN or Family Medicine. Outside of advising for HPA, she is part of the UC Davis Pre-Health Conference Leadership Team as the Social Media & Web Coordinator. She also actively participates in service events through her involvement in her pre-health sorority. In her free time, she loves to walk her dog, exercise, cook, and spend time with friends and family. 

Claudia Tang

  • Dentistry, Optometry, and Public Health
Claudia is a peer advisor for Dentistry. She is a fourth year majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and minoring in Chinese. In addition to being a pre-dental peer advisor, Claudia has also been involved with planning the UC Davis Pre-Health Conference for the past 2 years as the Chair of Health Professions and the Assistant Coordinator of Interactive Programming. Furthermore, she is currently working at the Veterinary Institute for Regenerative Cures, helping to manage the department website and social media page. This past summer, she attended the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) at the University of Washington, Seattle as a dental scholar. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with the Davis Aggie Lions Club, playing volleyball, and baking.
