Spring Break Road Trip
Come along as Health Professions Advising virtually visits medical schools from across the nation (and a few international schools as well) from March 24th - 27th! This will be an opportunity to explore new schools and connect with medical school admissions representatives. College students and graduates are welcome to join the free event, including non-UC Davis students and alumni!
All sessions will be hosted via Zoom and an admissions representative will be available to answer questions. Virtual sessions will typically be in a 1 hour time slot. Session formats could be:
- Admissions presentation
- Mock lecture/problem based learning discussion
- Q&A with Current Students
Attendance to all sessions is not mandatory, join when you can. Sessions will not be recorded.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to attend every session? Will any of the sessions be recorded?
- Join us when you can and for sessions you want to join! There is no obligation for attendance. Sessions will only be live.
- What is appropriate attire?
- Business casual is encouraged but not required. We understand everyone is in different situations and may be unable to have their camera on. We encourage participants to use their best judgement. We also encourage participants to turn on their camera, unmute, and enageg in the chat when possible. Speakers appreciate when the audience engages and participants are able to help make good impressions with admissions.
- Will there be an opportunity to as the presenters questions?
- Each session should have time for questions throughout or at the end.
- Will there be MD/PhD program info during the virtual visit?
- While there are not any specific MD/PhD sessions, many schools attending road trip still have MD/PhD programs or research opportunities.
- Should I be discouraged from applying to medical school if I have a low GPA?
- No matter where you are at academically it is still possible to be a doctor. This may take more time or classes, but everyone's needs and journeys are different. We encourage reaching out and meeting with an advisor to discuss your situation. UC Davis students and alumni can meet with staff during Zoom Drop-Ins or scheduled appointments.
- What is the timeline for taking the MCAT and applying?
- Great questions and glad you are thinking ahead. Join us at other events like Application Timelines and Pre-Med Bootcamp! UC Davis students and alumni can meet with an advisor during open hours, drop-ins or, scheduled appointments.
- I plan on applying in a few years, is this event too premature for me to attend?
- It is never too early or too late learn about your pre-med journey. We encourage pre-meds to attend every stage of their journey and yearly.
- I'm planning to apply this year, what do I do?
- HPA supports all UC Davis students and alumni throughout their journey, including providing application support. We encourage meeting early and refgularly with HPA. Get started at our App Prep Program page.
