How does Zoom Drop-In Advising work?

Please note that you will need to create an account and download Zoom before joining. Sessions are on a first come first serve basis for 15 minute sessions via Zoom. Students will meet with an advisor one-on-one setting. Students/Alumni should have their SID and know what health profession and topic they would like to discuss. Students are able to request specific advisors if there is space on their schedule.

When students join Zoom, they will enter a waiting room, then be brought individually to speak to one of our peer advisors, and then be added to an advisor's schedule. When the advisor is ready, the student will be brought into their Zoom room for the appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I've been in the waiting room for a while, what do I do?

  • Don't worry, you're in the right place! The peer advisor managing the waiting room will let in people from the waiting room one at a time in order. During peek advising times (such as during application season, pass times, and the beginning of the school year) the wait time may increase. We thank you for your patience and will see you soon!

  • What's the difference between scheduled appointments and Zoom Drop-In Advising?

  • Appointments are 30 minute sessions that are scheduled in advance. Zoom Drop-Ins are on a first-come first-serve basis for 15 minute sessions. All questions and topics for all health professions are welcome in either option.
