I grew up in Watsonville and am a UC Davis “first-gen” alum from 1972. I attended the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed a GPR residency at the UCLA Hospital and Clinics. I have served on the UCLA faculty for over 45 years, of which 25 were as associate dean.

I am currently an Emeritus Professor of Clinical Dentistry and Special Advisor to the Dean. I have held dental leadership positions locally, state-wide, and nationally; and, served as Vice-President of the Dental Board of California.

I am honored to join the HPA advisory board as I am grateful to UC Davis for my education and foundation for my career in dentistry. I am passionate about helping young people enter the health professions.
