I earned my undergraduate degree from the College of Biological Sciences at UC Davis and my MD from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. I completed residencies in general surgery at David Grant USAF Medical Center in California and in pediatric surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Earlier in my career, I held faculty positions at David Grant USAF Medical Center and the University of California, Davis.
More recently, I served as Chief of Pediatric Surgery and Chief of Children’s Surgical Services at Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center in California. Currently, I hold the position of Clinical Professor (CT) in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. I joined the HPA Advisory Board because of the positive impact UC Davis health professions advising had on my career path and a desire to give back and support pre-med students now.
