Many health professional schools require additional essay questions called secondaries or supplementals. Many allopathic medical schools send secondaries after the primary application is submitted, based on their selection criteria. Many osteopathic medical schools and other health professional schools (Dentistry, PA, Optometry, Physical Therapy, etc) often embed supplemental questions in their primary application.

Secondaries/supplementals can be about a wide range of topics, including why you’ve chosen their program, what diversity you bring to their program, and anything else you want them to know about you. Learn about the timeline for secondaries/supplementals, how to prepare early, and how to answer them.
