  • Ashley D Valenzuela, MOT

  • I graduated from UC Berkely in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in American Studies and a Minor in Education ( I thought I was going to be a teacher). After years of working in DME sales, I went back to school and attended Sameul Merritt University for Occupational Therapy. I graduated from Samuel Merrit in December of 2013 with a master's degree. Since graduating, I have worked for UC Davis Health. I started my career in the Neuro ICU and Neuro stepdown unit/floor. While those were my main floors, I also worked with people in the Trauma ICU, Trauma floor, and orthopedics floor. Following this, I became a lead therapist in the inpatient rehab unit at UC Davis where I worked with people with polyortho trauma, TBI, SCI, Stroke, and other neurological conditions. After 8 years of working in inpatient rehab, I moved to outpatient, at UC Davis, and am currently working as the outpatient occupational therapy TBI specialist. In addition to working with people who have traumatic brain injury (mild, moderate, and severe), I also work with people with acquired brain injury, SCI, stroke, FND, and other neurological impairments. I enjoy spending my time off with my two children, husband, and family. We love to be active and do all things outdoors.
