All Pre-Vet Aggies are invited to HPA’s Pre-Vet Symposium to learn more about the pathway to vet school and how to prepare for success. Symposium will be hosted by Chelsea and Juhee, HPA pre-vet advisors and current vet students at UC Davis!
Our 2023 symposium will cover topics like Vet School Admissions 101, Application Timeline and Experiences, and a Vet Student Panel! This session will be hosted from 10 am - 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 4th in-person at Giedt 1002.

10 - 10:50 am - Vet School Admissions 101
Chelsea and Juhee will review the process and steps needed to be a succesful pre-vet student at UC Davis. They will review topics like what are vet schools looking for in applicants, pre-reqs, and more.
11 - 11:50 am - Highlight: Application Timeline and Experiences
We will take a deeper dive into how the timeline looks to apply to vet school for going straight through or taking a gap year. Then we will discuss how to gain meaningfull experiences, differences between vet and animal experiences and how to get them, and when is good time to start.
12 - 12:30 pm - Financing Vet School
Learn about scholarship opportunities, resources, and other options to funding vet school.

Test your knowledge in veterinary school admission and animal facts with an interactive trivia session!
12:45 - 1 pm Break
1 - 2:30 pm - Current Vet Student Panel

What should I do if I have a low GPA?
Due to the complexity that can come with this question, we highly encourage meeting with an HPA advisor during our Zoom Drop-Ins or scheduled appointment. An advisor will be able to discuss with you best options based on your academic record and needs. HPA is also happy to note that our services continue after you graduate.
