Russell Thomas is a fourth year American Studies and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Double Major who advises for Public Health. In addition to working with HPA, Russell also advises for the Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Department and is a member of the Pre-Health Ambassador Network. Russell currently volunteers with the Joan Viteri Memorial Clinic and heads their committee on Gender and Sexuality. Passionate about health equity, harm reduction, and sex education, Russell has also interned through the Washington Program at a harm reduction clinic located in the DC Metropolitan Area. They also volunteer with Health Education and Promotion under Student Health and Counseling Services. Furthermore, they conduct research on state recognition of gender identity and the processes of administrative violence that unevenly distribute life chances. In their free time they enjoy reading, writing, and raving.
