As pre-health students, it's important to learn about the science of the human body. It's also important to understand the realities of the field you are preparing for.

Health care and public health are at the forefront of news in our country, but sometimes it can be hard to sift through the vast amounts of information at our fingertips and understand what exactly the media are talking about. This weekly seminar will be a space for pre-health students to learn the facts behind some issues being discussed in the media right now, such as: What exactly is the Affordable Care Act? What are opioids and why have they become so dangerous? What are some current changes in health policy and legislation?

  • All pre-health students are welcome, but priority will be given to upperclassmen.

Please email kakershaw@ucdavis.edu if you have any questions.
